The company was founded in 1984. It was and still managed by Mr. Elias Hage and his brothers Mr. Johnny Hage & Mr. Richard Hage. The first branch was located in Mansourieh, Lebanon (8min away by car from Beirut the capital city). During its first years with its humble point of sale, the company started to expand year after year selling clothes, shoes and other sporting accessories for famous international brand names (e.g.: Nike, Adidas, Reebok, etc.).
Due to the great customer service that Class Sport offered, the reputation of the company was well built and made a huge influence on the Lebanese market which made other sports retail stores join in but many failed to stay in competition. However, Class Sport continued to expand by opening several new point of sales in different key locations across Lebanon. In 1989, the first branch was modified and 2 extra floors were added on top of the point of sales providing more space for clothes and shoes display. In 1993, Class Sport decided to open a new retail store in a new mall that was opening on the highway in Dbayeh, located in the North of the country. However, the mall wasn’t much of success and it affected on the stores that joined in. Thus, in 1996, Class Sport decided to cut the losses and to look for another point of sale. In 2001, the company opened a new retail store in Baabda city, inside a mall that was located on the highway that connects Lebanon to Syria (which was called Damascus International Road). The new point of sale was a huge success especially that the city was considered highly secured due to the Presidential Palace near the location and McDonald’s being located close to us gave us a boost even more. In 2003, the main branch located in Mansourieh city needed an upgrade. ClassSport's main branch and main offices moved to a another location within the same city with a larger space and additional showrooms which helped in organizing and managing the company’s departments and divisions in better way. Presently, the new building of Class Sport Company has been divided into accounting and wholesale offices right under the retail store. In 2004, an office was established in China for import/export consulting purposes that help any supplier around the world to import goods from China.
In 2009, the company opened 2 new retail shops in Jounieh, Achrafieh(Spinneys Mall, 1st level).
In 2010, the company started a new venture and entered the world of fitness retail service under the name ClassSport Gym & Spa. The concept was first of its kind in the lebanese and arab industry where retail customers can enjoy shopping and at the same time go work out at the same location. The Gym & Spa center currently contains more than 50 machines and have more than 380 registered coed members that benefit from the cardio machines, weight lifting group training classes, nutritionist services, and other spa, massage & other services.
In 2011, and due to the huge success at the Spinneys Mall in Achrafieh, ClassSport expanded to a new point of sale inside Spinneys Shopping Mall but this time in West Beirut which is 2min away from Beirut the capital.
Nevertheless, Class Sport also focuses on the wholesale department by distributing and reselling international brands like PEAK, ICEPEAK, LUHTA, SALICE, BOERI to over 66 retail shops across Lebanon, Middle-East and Africa.
